Spain salary calculator 2026 rules reviewed

Spain salary calculator 2026

Estimate your monthly and annual net salary after IRPF payroll withholding and employee Social Security, then see what remains after your real expenses, savings and investments.

Standard permanent-employee profile. Final annual IRPF can vary by autonomous community and personal circumstances. Automatic mode is limited to salaries above €2,000 per month.

What this Spain salary calculator estimates

The automatic Spain engine follows the 2026 AEAT payroll-withholding methodology for a standard permanent employee profile and includes employee Social Security contributions. It estimates payroll withholding rather than your final annual income-tax return.

After the payroll estimate, enter housing, debt, living expenses, savings and investments to see how much of the salary may remain each month. This is useful for budgeting or comparing job offers, but individual tax circumstances can change the actual result.

How to use the Spain salary calculator

  1. Enter your gross salary in euros and choose monthly or annual frequency.
  2. The calculator estimates IRPF payroll withholding and employee Social Security for the supported 2026 standard profile.
  3. Add your housing, debt, living expenses, savings and investments.
  4. Use the remaining-money result as a practical monthly planning figure.

Payroll withholding versus final IRPF

The automatic Spain result is a payroll-withholding estimate, not a final annual income-tax return. Autonomous-community rules, family circumstances, deductions and other income can change final IRPF. The standard profile assumes a permanent employee under 65 with family situation 3 and no dependants, disability or special territorial relief.

Common Spain salary questions

Does the calculator include Social Security?

Yes. The supported profile includes the employee Social Security contributions described in the methodology.

Is the IRPF figure my final annual tax?

No. It estimates payroll withholding. Your final tax return can differ because of autonomous-community rules, deductions and personal circumstances.

Why is there a lower-salary manual mode?

Contribution minimums can depend on occupational group at lower salaries. The site avoids presenting a false automatic precision where those details matter.

Does the calculator include children or disability adjustments?

No. The current automatic profile assumes no dependants or disability adjustments.

Can I use it to compare a job offer?

Yes, as a planning estimate. Enter the proposed gross salary and your expected monthly costs to compare the approximate money left after payroll deductions and personal commitments.
